The deepwater berths can accommodate a wide range of vessels, while a 500Te heavy lift pad with direct quayside bunkering supports efficient load-outs - including fully loaded reels.

Transpooling of product between our high-capacity carousels and vessels is enabled via customisable spooling highways, with all procedures and handling overseen by our experienced Project Management & Engineering teams.

This in-house capability enables end-to-end support, from optimised spooling to storage with inspection and preservation plans, and from product preparation and termination management to offshore installation. By integrating these capabilities in one location, PESB reduces operational complexity and risk, while prioritising asset integrity at every step.

PESB offers extensive outdoor storage, including high-capacity carousels for long lengths of flexibles and secure space for product reels. A specialised handling system enables efficient reel movement without the need for crane operations. Our asset management teams oversee product condition throughout storage, delivering inspection and preservation programmes tailored to individual requirements.

We also provide storage for system spares and project-specific ancillaries, ensuring readiness for deployment, even at short notice. Our flexible handling expertise extends to product preparation, including end terminations, orientation aligned with installation methodology and pre-deployment testing of both product and equipment.

PESB offers dedicated client office space designed to function as a project command centre, supporting efficient delivery from mobilisation through to offshore execution. Located alongside quayside operations, the modern offices provide full visibility of handling, load-out and mobilisation activities, enabling project teams to stay on top of every stage of the scope.

Integrated audio-visual systems and high-speed connectivity allow live communication when the execution moves offshore, ensuring real-time oversight and control. This proximity to operations, combined with direct access to MDL’s engineering and project teams, enables faster decision-making, improved coordination and a more streamlined execution.

When a subsea cable fault occurs, speed is critical to minimise downtime, protect revenue and restore operational continuity. PESB enables a rapid, coordinated response, combining strategically located infrastructure, ready-to-mobilise equipment and experienced personnel to support cable repair and replacement scopes at short notice.

Through our Integrated Project Services, we deliver complete cable handling packages: from onshore preparation and transpooling of spare lengths, to mobilisation on vessels of opportunity and offshore execution. For decommissioning, this includes the recovery and handling of flexbile subsea infrastructure, planned by our PM&E experts and executed using MDL packages for decom - all contributing to decarbonisation and the wider energy transition.
