Corporate Governance
Our ethos is to question how we improve the way things are done. We talk honestly and directly, respecting each other and those around us.
MDL maintains the highest health, safety, environmental and quality practices and our management systems have been verified as confirming with the international industry standards ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
Compliance
Compliance refers to our commitment to ensure that our business is conducted to meet legal, ethical and professional standards.
We have developed and implemented comprehensive HSEQ and HR policies, procedures and plans; we communicate these to all employees, contractors and stakeholders on regular basis, making clear how we enhance transparency, accountability and the ethical behaviour of our company.
These processes also ensure we keep ourselves informed about relevant environmental, health and safety regulations to ensure compliance.
We engage third-party auditors to assess and verify our adherence to HSEQ standards, reflected in the ISO certifications from globally-recognised industry body (DNV), reaffirming that our business is managed in accordance with internationally-recognised norms.
Our commitment to HSEQ is driven by the Board throughout the company to ensure that all levels understand and prioritise HSEQ issues, fostering a positive reputation and contributing to long-term business success.
At MDL we will always:
-
Respect and comply with all laws and regulations that apply to us, our partners and clients
-
Promote fair business practices and treat all parties with whom we have business relationships in a fair and respectful manner, maintaining transparency
-
Honour, review and re-live our internal policies
MDL is dedicated to protecting human rights and will ensure that our activities do not directly or indirectly violate human rights onshore or offshore, anywhere in the world. We are a committed equal opportunity employer and abide by all fair labour practices, and support diversity and inclusion.
We take a zero-tolerance approach to bribery and corruption, and are committed to acting professionally, fairly, safely and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships.
Anti-bribery and corruption
We are committed to carrying out all of our business to the highest standards. Conducting our operations ethically and in line with our company values and code of conduct leaves no room for corruption and bribery. We underline our stance with our Anti-bribery and Corruption Policy, seconded by our Whistleblowing Policy.
In order to uphold our commitment to conduct our business with honesty and integrity, it is important that we learn about possible wrongdoing in relation to our activities as quickly as possible so that we can put an immediate end to it. Our Whistleblowing Policy covers all employees, officers, consultants, contractors, casual workers and agency workers.
To support reporting of activities that violate MDL's code of conduct, we have designated points of contact within the company to handle allegations confidentially and fairly.
Transparency
At MDL we value transparency, ensuring open communication with stakeholders, partners and all employees, and ultimately - a shared vision. We hold ourselves accountable for our actions, fostering trust through clear and timely reporting. We achieve this by hosting regular Town Hall meetings where our leadership team provides insights into our strategic direction while addressing questions from the wider team, ensuring two-way communication.
Additionally, we leverage digital channels to keep our workforce well-informed, delivering updates on key developments as well as inviting queries and feedback to senior management.
