Challenge
An offshore contractor required a solution for safe handling of mooring chain on deck. The device had to be easy to move around for the required operations, while remaining securely in place once breaks were applied.
MDL Solution
MDL designed, modelled and engineered a bespoke handling table, followed by in-house manufacture and testing. The system was delivered on schedule complete with a documentation pack.
Outcomes
The table allows for manoeuvring of the shackle into place beneath mooring piles' pad eyes. This allows the shackle pin to be easily inserted, to ensure safe offshore installation of the pile.
