Reliable Winch Support for Subsea Operations

A vessel operator in the North Sea required a reliable and responsive winch solution to support diving and inspection activities in challenging offshore conditions. The equipment needed to deliver precise control under varying loads, integrate seamlessly with the vessel’s existing systems and perform consistently throughout the subsea campaign to minimise downtime and operational risk.

A package that included two 8Te hydraulic tugger winches was supplied and configured specifically to deliver constant tension control throughout operations. Updated project requirements led to a need to improve the performance delivered by the winch package. MDL responded by upgrading the Hydraulic Power Units, which delivered a faster winch package. Installation and commissioning onboard the vessel were supported by MDL technicians, ensuring seamless integration with the existing equipment spread and alignment with operational needs during mobilisation.
