New appointment sets foothold in Brazil
MDL has opened a new office in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, reflecting the company’s solid commitment to the South American market.
Heading the new entity is Yuri Mendes Martins who has been appointed VP of Brazil. He will be responsible for growing the local recognition of MDL’s complete offering across rental, innovation, equipment design, repairs and upgrades, as well as nurturing client relationships and fostering successful partnerships to bring challenging projects online.
Yuri brings with him a wealth of Engineering and Business Development expertise from his previous roles at InterMoor where he worked in various positions for over 13 years. He commented on his appointment:
“I am extremely pleased to be joining MDL as VP of Brazil at this exciting time of growth. My primary focus will be to expand the local client base and build on the outstanding work MDL has done in this market to date.
“I believe that MDL’s in-house design and engineering capability paired with its uniquely tailored approach will be an absolute game-changer for the market and I am excited to bring this to the Brazilian clients and to see them succeed.”
Andrew Blaquiere, MDL Managing Director, said:
“In the last 12 months, Brazil has had a significant impact on MDL’s growth across all our Business Units. The decision to set up a regional office with a native representative came quite naturally as the result of the growing pipeline of projects that MDL is already supporting in country.
“With a local presence we are committed to providing the best service to our clients, allowing us to better integrate with local project teams and support customers with their aspirations across all energy market segments.”
