Helping to Light the North
In Summer 2021, CLAN Cancer Support, in partnership with Wild in Art, will bring several rays of light into the North East of Scotland – and MDL is proud to be part of the initiative.
The Light the North sculpture trail will see over 30 lighthouses pop up across the north-east, Moray, Orkney and Shetland islands, taking visitors on a cultural tour of the region, while supporting the life-enhancing work of CLAN.
The 2.5m-tall lighthouses, which are currently being designed by local artists - will be present in each of the areas that CLAN Cancer Support operates. This is the latest art sculpture trail in Scotland following on from the Dolphins and Oor Wullie, to inspire artists, school and the public from across the country, while raising funds for CLAN.
For over 36 years, the charity has supported anyone affected by cancer, providing emotional and practical help to ensure the people’s wellbeing is being taken care of at all states of the cancer journey.
At the end of trail, each of the lighthouse sculptures will be auctioned off and the funds raised will help CLAN to support even more people affected by cancer.
More details on how MDL is supporting the initiative will be revealed in due course. In the meantime, to learn more about the trail and how to get involved, visit here.
